Sanwo-Olu, Adighijie, Attah, Igiehon, Aradel, SEEPCO and Others Win Awards at Energy Times

The third Energy Times award 2026 edition brought together captains of industries, dignitaries, exceptional awardees and invited guests.

It was a celebration of excellent vision and trailblazing achievements in different categories.

Governor-of-the-Year Award

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State won the Governor-of-the-year award.

The Governor was represented by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. Toriola Abdulafiz Gbolahan who received the award on his behalf and said it came from a credible worthy platform.

Award of Excellence Category

Award of Excellence was won by Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources of Lagos State, Mr. Abiodun Ogunleye. He was recognized for his hard work and involvement in energy for the state.

The former Group General Manager (GGM) Public Affairs Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Kenny Obateru was also awarded. He distinguished himself as an excellent leader while in office at NNPC.

Electricity Generation Company of the year

Electricity Generation Company of the year was won by Egbin Power Plc for its role in power generation in the country. The GenCo achieved an average hour generation of approximately 546 megawatt hours per hour in spite of challenges in the sector.

Sustainability Development Company

Sustainability development company of the year was won by Sterling Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company (SEEPCO), also referred to as Sterling Oil.

Edith Efieroho who spoke on behalf of the company was elated for the award. She said: “thank you Energy Times. Keep doing the great work.”

Social Impact Company of the Year

The award for social impact company of the year was won by Sahara Group Foundation.

Power Sector Personality of the Year

Power sector personality of the year was given to an individual who is making impact in the power sector. The winner was MD/CEO of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Engr. Jennifer Adighijie.

Mr. Emmanuel Ojor, Head, Corporate Communications and External Relations at NDPHC received the award and spoke on behalf of the MD of the company thanking the Publisher and Chairman of Energy Times by wishing them success.

The Amazon of Nigeria power sector award went to the CEO Association of Power Generation Companies (APGC), Dr. Joy Ogaji.

Speaking at the Award Night, Dr. Ogaji said: “I dedicated the award to my fellow comrades who are fighting night and day to ensure that Nigerians have 24/7 light. So this award is to all my comrades in the power sector.”

Power Sector Expert Award

Power sector expert award was won by former Chairman of Eko DisCo Mr. Oritsedere Otubu.

Energy Company CSR Excellence Award

The award is for a company constantly giving out Corporate Social Responsibility and it was won by Seplat Energy Plc, Mr. Stanley Opara, Manager Corporate Affairs of the company appreciated the award and recognition wishing Energy Times growth and success.

Local Content Company of the Year Award

Pana Holdings won the Local Content of the year award. Speaking at the award ceremony, Dr. Daere Akobo, Chairman of the company thanked his family and his wife who made it possible for him to attend the event.

Dr. Akobo said national resources does not make a nation wealthy but translation of it to a value and if created the country will benefit from it.

CEO of the Year Oil Sector

The award goes to Engr. Tony Attah CEO of Renaissance Africa Energy Company. Mr. Igo Weli, Vice President, Relations and Sustainable Development at Renaissance Africa Energy, thanked the Publisher of Energy Times and other stakeholders for the award, “I’m so proud we’re just over a year old.”

“We’re a great local content story, and since we took over the operations that SPDC used to manage onshore and shallow waters in the first 100 days, we have added 100,000 barrels to production.”

Weli submitted that the company is driven by three things known as ABC; ambition, belief and courage. “So we’re very ambitious, we have belief and courage to be the leading energy company in Africa to enable energy security in Nigeria because that will drive industrialization.”

Renaissance wants to grow at a sustainable manner.

Outstanding Oil and Gas Company of the Year

The award for outstanding Oil and Gas Company of the year was won by Aradel Holding Plc, receiving the award on behalf of the company, Dr. Ebenezer Ageh, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Aradel Holdings Plc, appreciated the Publisher and Chairman of Energy Times adding that the award is commitment of the company’s advancement of the energy sector.

The most integrated energy solution government agency of the year was won by NASENI.

Oil Service Company of the Year

The award for the oil service company of the year went to Marine Platforms Limited while the brand of the year award was won by Nembe Exploration and Production Company.

Energy Icon of the Year

The energy icon of the year award was won by Dr. Oladiran Fawibe, Chairman International Energy Service Limited. Dr. Fawibe thanked Energy Times for consistently running the awards events; he urged the newspapers to keep the flag flying in its future endeavours.

Independent Oil and Gas Company of the Year

The independent Oil and Gas Company of the year award was won by Platform Petroleum. The company expressed gratitude for privilege of winning the award.

Power Sector Expert of the Year

Engr. Francis Agoa former MD of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) won the award.

Transformational CFO of the Year

Transformational CFO of the year in power distribution was won by Napoleon Okosu of IBEDC.

Outstanding Oil and Gas Personality of the Year

Outstanding oil and gas personality of the year was won by CEO of Heirs Energy Osayande Igiehon.

The Publisher of Energy Times, Kayode Ekundayo appreciated the awardees, dignitaries and sponsors who attended the event. It was a memory that will linger in the minds of all stakeholders.
