Tinubu Inaugurates Ministers, Sworn-in 45 Cabinet Members

President Bola Tinubu today sworn- in 45 ministers who will now focus on the nation’s troubled economy.

The Ministers, who were sworn in batches of five each, took their oath of office, at Aso Rock Villa after which they had a hand shook with the president.

Nigerians, he said, are highly expecting delivery, accountability and transparency. He stated that Nigerians expect that they, the ministers would serve with integrity and dignity and deliver.  He stated further that he will hold the ministers to that standard.

“Your assignment begins immediately, as your country honours  you  today by this call to service, you must prove yourselves worthy in the eyes of  God and all our nation’s people. your obligation is to restore public faith in Government so that our people can once again believe in government”

He told the ministers that they are ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not to see themselves as belonging to any region or state, stating further that they should be transparent and truthful in the discharge of their duties.

He said in line with the federal constitution the Senate of the federal republic of Nigeria has screened and confirmed 45 ministers  who will superintend over the ministries of Federal Government in this administration of “Renewed Hope”

The president said the ministers sworn-in have been carefully selected by the dint of their track records, excellent and achievements in the private and public sectors.

He said their appointment reflects the diversity of the country and brings to their new role an assortment of experience and expertise to help guide the nation’s affairs and also continue to rebuild the nation and reengineer our finances and defects, building blocks of Nigeria’s today and the future.

He said the challenges the administration faces today are very daunting, “yes, they are, yet amidst this evidence challenges we have the opportunities to implement long over reform that will improve the operations of government, transforms the nation’s economy to ensure safety and prosperity for our people.

He said these are objectives that underpinned the “Renewed Hope” agenda. And these are the objectives that inspired the selection of a lot of these distinguished ladies and gentlemen who are ministers now.

He said since his inauguration in May 29, 2023 he had taken steps to begin the implementation of the agenda upon which he had campaigned to seek the mandate of the Nigerian people

“With the inauguration of the ministers today, we are going to accelerate our governing efforts to move forward to realizing our aspiration for Nigeria. It all about a great team and I believe we have them   here.”

It is a high honour to be chosen as minister in the federal executive council of our beloved republic. With such high honour comes high responsibilities.

The inauguration of the ministers comes less than a week after President Tinubu released the list of portfolios for the appointees, which was again reviewed on Sunday.

Those sworn in include former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike as Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wale Edun (Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy), Adegboyega Oyetola (Marine and Blue Economy), David Umahi (Works), Festus Keyamo (Aviation and Aerospace Development), and Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation).

Also among those sworn in are Bosun Tijani (Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy), Ishak Salaco (State, Environment and Ecological Management), Wale Edun (Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy), Adegboyega Oyetola (Marine and Blue Economy), Adedayo Adelabu (Minister of Power), Tunisia Alausa (State, Health and Social Welfare), Dele Alake (Solid Minerals Development), Lola Ade-John (Minister of Tourism), Sa’idu Alkali (Transportation), and Bunmi Tunji-Ojo (Interior).
