…SEEPCO received second consecutive Award
Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) received industry recognition at the Nigerian Association of Energy Correspondents (NAEC) Annual Energy Conference and Awards.
It marked the second consecutive year the company has earned recognition from the energy association owing to its contributions to Nigeria’s energy sector.
At the 2026 NAEC Awards, SEEPCO received the prestigious, Government–Private Partner of the Year Award in recognition of its strategic collaboration with government institutions to strengthen marine security, enhance the capacity of the Nigerian Navy and safeguard Nigeria’s oil and gas assets.
The award recognizes SEEPCO for its exemplary collaboration with government institutions to promote security, stability and operational continuity in Nigeria’s upstream sector.

At the NAEC awards ceremony, the association recognised SEEPCO’s efforts in supporting security, stability and operational continuity within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector and the industry leaders acknowledged effective collaboration between industry operators and government institutions which remains essential to sustainable growth.
SEEPCO partnership with the Nigerian Navy on the KALI Series Security Support Vessels, designed and built in Delta State, Nigeria, reflects collaborative approach. The initiative supports local content development, strengthens indigenous capabilities and enhances protection of critical energy assets.
During the conference, the company’s goodwill message was presented by Dr Jite Orimiono, General Manager, Human Resources & Industrial Relations.
He commended NAEC for providing a platform for meaningful conversations on the future of Nigeria’s energy sector.
In line with the conference theme, “Access to Assets: Empowering Players and Driving Growth,” the goodwill message highlighted the importance of access to energy assets in unlocking investment, strengthening indigenous participation, creating opportunities across the value chain and driving sustainable economic growth.
The message also emphasised that the growth of Nigeria’s energy sector goes beyond production to include strong partnerships, local capacity development, energy asset security and a shared commitment to creating lasting value for communities and the nation.
It further acknowledged the media’s role in fostering informed conversations, promoting accountability and highlighting developments across the industry.
SEEPCO’s commitment to sustainability earned it the Sustainability Company of the Year award at the 2025 NAEC Awards. It continues to advance sustainability through environmental initiatives, community development programmes and partnerships aimed at creating lasting value for its stakeholders.
These efforts include reducing its environmental footprint, improving resource efficiency and promoting responsible operations. In line with this commitment, the company launched SEEPCO SMILE Campaign in 2025 in partnership with NAEC, extending its community-focused engagements to bring smiles with each barrel to the last mile.
