Joint Task Force Kills 20 Terrorists in Lamboa Forest

Two army joint taskforce team in conjunction with air force inflicted heavy casualties on Boko Haram and ISWAP groups killing 20 terrorists in Lamboa forest, Borno State. They acted on credible intelligence as air force carried air offensive on the terrorist groups.

This was revealed by Nigerian Army Spokesman, Brigadier General, Onyema Nwachukwu who stated in a communique that troops overran the position of the terrorists both land and air. The troops also captured heavy fire arm weapons including gun trucks.

In another development, security operatives have rescued more abductees from the Federal Government College, Birnin Youri, in Kebbi state.

The army spokesman also disclosed that one teacher and three students were rescued in ongoing search and rescue operations. According to the statement, the troops also killed some terrorists and recovered 9 motor cycles and pump gun riffles.

He noted that additional troops have been deployed to dominate the forest.

Meanwhile, two teachers and five students were earlier rescued on Friday by troops who dominated the kidnappers during exchange of fire.

The incident is the latest in the series of increasing school abductions across the country.
