What are the current challenges in the global travel and tours sector, relating to Nigeria at large?
Nigerian passport holders face difficulties accessing certain countries for study, work, or travel. The ongoing global crises have impacted the travel sector, and despite efforts, opportunities remain limited.
Has the travel and tours sector performed better in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, and are there policies put in place to smooth travel and tours?
I can see improvements under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, believing a significant turnaround in the travel industry is possible by 2027. I emphasize on the need for increased government support to promote Nigeria’s tourism potential, which could rival the oil sector as a major revenue source. The tourism sector in Nigeria is one of the most under utilized resources we have. It can provide jobs, boost local economies, and promote our rich cultural heritage to the world. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu set a goal of over $1 trillion in GDP through tourism, which is achievable if we have global strategies to drive growth.
