Mr. Gbenga Shobo
The board of Nigeria’s foremost banker, First Bank has approved the appointment of Mr. Gbenga Shobo as new Managing Director/CEO designate of the bank. The decision was taken at its meeting. He succeeds Sola Adeduntan, whose tenure expires at the end of the month.
Gbenga was prior to the appointment a Deputy Managing Director. Other appointments made by the board according to its Chairman, Mrs. Ibukun Awoshika, include: Abdullahi Ibrahim as Deputy Managing Director, while Mr. Ini Ebong, Mr. Segun Alebiosu, Mr Seyi Oyefeso and Mrs Bashirat Odunewu were appointed Executive Directors. The appointments are all subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
