FCT Decides: PDP, APC Share Six Seats

…As Saraki congratulates party over unexpected victory

The Federal Capital Territory Area Council poll election that was conducted last Saturday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) split the six seats evenly.

Reacting to the victory of the PDP candidate, Saraki, a former two-term Governor of Kwara State, said: “Following yesterday’s #FCTDecides election, I congratulate the candidates of the PDP and the new Chairmen-elect of AMAC, Kuje and Bwari Area Councils, Mr. Christopher Zakka, Mr. Suleman Sabo, and Mr. John Gabaya on their success in the polls.

“As you all prepare to serve the people of your respective constituencies, know that you all have my full support. I am positive that you will all make your people and our great party proud!”

It will be recalled that when the PDP held sway in power they won all the six council seats but was overtaken by the APC.

However, the PDP won three seats including AMAC that was considered to be most contested suggesting that Abuja residents may have pitched their tents back with the party.
