Energia Limited, a leading Nigerian independent energy company, is proud to announce its participation at the upcoming Africa Energy Week (AEW) 2025, taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 29 September – 3 October 2025.
As part of the participation, Energia’s Chief Operating Officer, Oladimeji Bashorun, will join industry leaders at the Upstream E&P Forum on 1st of October 2025, contributing to a high-level panel discussion on “Unlocking Africa’s Onshore and Shallow Water Potential – Strategies for Sustainable Exploration and Development.” The session will explore pathways for optimizing Africa’s upstream opportunities, with a focus on sustainable practices, indigenous innovation, and regional collaboration. On the same day, Energia will also lend its voice to thought leadership alongside Olaniwun Ajayi LP, in partnership with Africa Legal, at the Leadership Forum, themed “Beyond Divestments: Unleashing Indigenous Capacity to Power Nigeria’s Upstream Growth,” highlighting the critical role of indigenous companies in reshaping Nigeria’s upstream landscape amid ongoing industry divestments.
Speaking ahead of the event, Oladimeji Bashorun, COO of Energia Limited, said: “Africa’s upstream growth story is inseparable from the resilience and ingenuity of indigenous players. For over two decades, Energia has exemplified this through steady, ingenious operations that continue to expand opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas landscape. We believe that beyond divestments lies a greater chance to unleash homegrown capacity, deepen local participation, and drive sustainable development that benefits both investors and host communities. Africa Energy Week provides the right platform to showcase how companies like ours are delivering practical solutions that shape Nigeria’s energy future.” Energia’s participation at AEW 2025 highlights the organisations dedication to building resilience and capacity within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. With a track record in efficient upstream operations for over 20 years, Energia continues to demonstrate that indigenous companies are well-positioned to drive local participation, and deliver long-term socio-economic value.
