Tegbe Explains Nationwide Electricity Shortfall, Promises Gradual Restoration within 72 Hours

-Felix Douglas

Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, said planned maintenance at Egbin Power Station gas supply constraints and sabotage of transmission infrastructure are responsible for the recent electricity outages, assuring consumers that the first affected generating units are expected to return within 48 to 72 hours.

According to the Minister of Power, this attributed to the recent electricity outages affecting four states, including Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The minister also said efforts were ongoing to improve gas supply to thermal power stations and accelerate repairs to damaged transmission infrastructure.

Tegbe assured electricity consumers that his team was working to restore supply gradually, while thanking affected households and businesses for their patience.

He promised to provide further updates as electricity supply improves across the affected areas.
