Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (Heritage Energy), operator of OML 30 on behalf of its Joint Venture Partners, NNPC E&P Limited (NEPL) and Shoreline Natural Resources Limited (SNRL), has commenced its inaugural Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Week across OML 30, under the theme “One Team, One Goal. Zero Harm.”
The five-day programme brings together Heritage Energy personnel across its office and field locations for a series of activities focused on health, safety, security and environmental performance, while reinforcing the company’s commitment to operational discipline, risk awareness and continuous improvement.
Commenting on the commencement of the inaugural programme, Chief Executive Officer, Ado Oseragbaje, said achieving zero harm requires a consistent approach to the way work is planned and executed.
“No job is so urgent or important that it cannot be paused to address a safety concern,” Oseragbaje said.
“Achieving zero harm requires us to understand the risks around our work, follow the controls that keep us safe, and remaining disciplined in how we execute our activities. It also requires us to speak up when something does not look right and to have the confidence to intervene when necessary.”
Oseragbaje emphasised the importance of understanding operational risks, adhering to established controls and maintaining an environment where concerns can be raised and addressed before they result in harm.
He also reaffirmed the company’s Stop Work Authority, which empowers employees to intervene where a task is considered unsafe or could cause harm.
The CEO noted that the inaugural HSSE Week provides an opportunity to strengthen shared understanding of HSSE expectations, exchange experiences and reinforce the behaviours that underpin safe, reliable and responsible operations.
The programme covers all four HSSE pillars, with activities spanning health and wellbeing, safety learning and engagement, security awareness, environmental stewardship, and recognition of HSSE contributions.
The inaugural HSSE Week forms part of Heritage Energy’s broader focus on strengthening operational performance through disciplined execution, active risk management and continuous learning across its OML 30 operations.
