Aveon Offshore: Growing Nigeria Content

Nigerian content in the oil and gas industry has grown from under 5% to 61% over the past 15 years, according to NCDMB. At the 2026 Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference, the board unveiled the next phase of its local content strategy, aimed at expanding indigenous manufacturing capacity and preparing Nigerian companies to absorb the next wave of sector investment rather than watch it pass through foreign contractors.
Aveon Offshore has been Nigerian-owned since 2007. That 61% figure isn’t an abstract policy win; it’s the sum of individual companies choosing to build capacity at home rather than import it, one yard, one certification, one contract at a time. The next phase of that strategy is where a company like ours can continue to contribute, and it’s a longer conversation than a single policy announcement, because capacity built at this scale doesn’t build quickly.
