Osaze Isesele Takes on New Role as NGA Publicity Secretary

Osaze Isesele has formally assumed office as the Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) following the official handover ceremony of the Association’s incoming Executive Council held on 24 April 2026 at the Association’s office in Lagos. The ceremony was followed by a handover dinner attended by outgoing and incoming Executive Council members, as well as team members of the NGA Secretariat, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

A seasoned strategic communications expert, Osaze Isesele brings a strong portfolio of multidisciplinary experience to the role. He currently serves as Digital Marketing Manager for Africa at GEP, where he has led digital content strategies for flagship industry platforms including the Mozambique Energy and Industry Summit (MEIS), Uganda International Oil and Gas Summit (UIOGS) and the Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC). His background spans brand management, communications strategy, broadcasting, digital marketing, content creation, public relations, media relations, event planning and public speaking, positioning him to strengthen the Association’s visibility and amplify opportunities across Nigeria’s gas value chain.

The incoming Executive Council is led by Engr. Mrs. Yetunde Taiwo, General Manager, Integrated Gas Business at FIRST Exploration & Petroleum Development Company, as President. She is joined by Mr. Olufisayo Duduyemi, FCA, Managing Director of Axxela Integrated Power, as First Vice President; Engr. Chichi Emenike, FNSE, Acting Managing Director and Gas Asset Manager of Neconde Energy Limited, as Second Vice President; Mr. Oladeji Olaoti, Head of Commercials at Falcon Corporation Limited, as Secretary General; Mr. Olabode Ogundipe, Managing Director of Sprovab Nigeria, as Deputy Secretary General; Mr. Adeolu Adefarasin, Head of Corporate Finance & Upstream Commercial at FIRST E&P, as Financial Secretary; and Mr. Michael Iwuoha, Legal Counsel for Sub-Saharan Africa at Weatherford, as Legal Adviser.

The handover ceremony was also attended and witnessed by Mr. Ed Ubong, Coordinating Director of the Decade of Gas Secretariat and Immediate Past President of the Nigerian Gas Association (2021–2023), reflecting the continuity of leadership and the strong alignment between the NGA and the Decade of Gas initiative in advancing policy advocacy, domestic utilisation and investment promotion across Nigeria’s gas value chain.

Speaking at the event, the immediate past President, Mr. Akachukwu Nwokedi, General Counsel & Company Secretary of NLNG and International Gas Union (IGU) Africa Regional Coordinator, urged the incoming Council to sustain the momentum in reaffirming the NGA brand as the leading voice in Nigeria’s gas sector while maintaining the Association’s industry edge. He thanked members of the outgoing Council, the NGA Secretariat led by the Executive Secretary, Mr. Taji Ogbe, the Coordinating Director of the Decade of Gas Secretariat for recognising NGA’s role in the national gas agenda, as well as sponsors, strategic partners, and members of the Association for their continued support.

Mr. Nwokedi further noted that leadership of the Association requires unwavering commitment and expressed confidence that the transition would be seamless. He said he looked forward to the incoming Council building on existing successes and taking the Association to even greater heights.

In her acceptance remarks, Engr. Mrs. Yetunde Taiwo stated that a strong foundation had been laid by previous leadership and that she intended to build on established protocols and institutional progress. She expressed confidence in the incoming Executive Council, noting that she had no doubt in the team’s ability to deliver value, strengthen collaboration and lead the Association to greater heights.

Speaking on his assumption of office, Osaze Isesele said he was honoured by the confidence reposed in him and ready to serve with dedication and professionalism. He stated that his focus would be to strengthen strategic communications, deepen media engagement, promote investment narratives and spotlight the transformative role of gas in Nigeria’s economic future.

For more than three decades, the Nigerian Gas Association has remained one of the most influential voices in Nigeria’s gas industry, promoting the interests of operators and stakeholders, supporting policy reform, encouraging investments, and advancing natural gas as a foundation for industrialisation, energy security and long-term economic prosperity.
