20th Anniversary: Centre for Petroleum Information Celebrates with Book Presentation

Centre for petroleum Information (CPI) is marking its two decades of creating value and knowledge in the oil and gas industry through its hydrocarbon-specific non-profit organization. To commemorate its platinum milestone, a number of events have been lined up including the presentation of a book entitled, “Energy Insight NIGERIA” scheduled to hold on Friday, October 16, 2020.

The book captures the thoughts of 45 contributors, among the brightest minds in the energy industry of Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria. It also gives vivid insight into many timeless industry issues while simultaneously enjoying today’s hindsight and provides a peep into the future of the petroleum and the wider energy industry in Nigeria.

According to the editor of the book, Victor Eromosele, former General Manager Finance, Nigeria LNG Limited and NNPC-NAPIMS, who is currently the Executive Director of the Centre for Petroleum Information (CPI) and secretary to the Board of Governors, “Over the last two decades, CPI has built a large repository of information from its knowledge-sharing activities. Considering that knowledge is nothing unless it is shared, the Board of Governors of the Centre decided to mark its 20th-anniversary milestone with what essentially is “a book of readings.” By so doing, we hope we would have successfully turned a ‘snippet’ from our information repository into “useful knowledge.” He referred to the publication as a book of notable persons in the oil and gas industry.

Commenting on the book, Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation said, “I strongly recommend the book to anyone keen on gaining an authoritative insight into several aspects of the Nigerian petroleum and energy industries. Industry executives and related professionals, policy makers, prospective investors, academics interested in the subject and their students; and media practitioners should find the book a worthy reference work.”

The hybrid event will be anchored by Emeka Akabogu, while the guest speaker, Gbenga Oyebode MFR, Board Chairman, Aluko & Oyebode will be discussing the topic “Salvaging the Unrealised Nigerian Vision 2020”; the book review will be done by Dr. Soala Ariweriokuma Author, “Political Economy of Oil and Gas in Africa”, while the book presentation will be done by Dr. ABC Orjiako, Chairman, Seplat Petroleum plc.

The event is expected to be graced by other industry leaders.
