The New City University recently licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to offer programmes in the under listed five (5) Faculties:

  • Faculty of Basic Medical and Allied Sciences;
  • Faculty of Communication and Media Studies;
  • Faculty of Computing and Sciences;
  • Faculty of Social and Management Sciences; and
  • Faculty of Law.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. A) CATEGORIES OF ACADEMIC STAFF AND QUALIFICATIONS

In all cases, candidates are required to possess appropriate skills and orientation, especially digital skills and computer literacy in their respective disciplines with a strong bias for research.

1) Professor NUTSSS 7: Must possess a Ph.D with specialization in the intended discipline, with a track record of academic and administrative leadership, mentoring, relevant publications in local and international reputable journals etc. and twelve (12) years post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience. In addition, candidates must possess a good measure of academic leadership, teamwork as well as some administrative experience in working with interdisciplinary groups.

2) Associate Professor (Reader) NUTSSS 6: same as for the position of a professor but with a minimum of eight (8) years post qualification, full-time, relevant teaching and research experience.

3) Senior Lecturer NUTSSS 5: Same as for a professor, but with a minimum of 6 years post-qualification, full-time, relevant teaching and research experience.

4) Lecturer I NUTSSS 4: Must possess a Ph.D degree from accredited university, with a minimum of 3 years, post-qualification teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly publications.

5) Lecturer Il NUTSSS 3: Ph.D degree from a accredited university. This is the entry point for fresh Ph.D holders hence the candidate will not be evaluated on the publication criterium; however, evidence of scholarly publication is an added advantage. A master’s degree holder in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification, full-time, teaching experience is eligible to apply with an evidence of having reached an advanced stage of completing Ph.D. programme will be an added advantage.

6) Assistant Lecturer: Candidate must possess a good master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a CGPA suitable to qualify the candidate for a Ph.D programme. The candidate must in addition satisfy their department that they possess requisite skills for sustained career in the academia. Evidence of progress in his/her Ph.D. programme will be an added advantage.

7) Assistant Librarian: Candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science.

  1. B) CATEGORIES OF ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF AND QUALIFICATIONS (REGISTRY).

1) Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR): The candidate must possess a good honours degree from a accredited university with at least nine (9) years post-qualification experience which must be in a University or its equivalent, possession of a Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

2) Assistant Registrar (AR): Same as in the SAR position, but the candidate is expected to have only 6 years post-qualification experience, which must be in a university administration or in an equivalent institution.

3) Administrative Officer (AO): Candidate must possess a good honours degree from a recognized university.

4) Confidential Secretary: Candidate must possess a B.Sc or HND Degree in Secretarial Studies/Office Management plus at least 2 or 4 years post-qualification cognate experience respectively.

BURSARY DEPARTMENT

5) Senior Accountant: Candidate must possess a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting plus at least 6 or 9 years post qualification cognate experience respectively.

6) Account Officer: Candidate must possess a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting plus at least 3 or 6 years post qualification cognate experience respectively.

  1. OTHER CATEGORIES OF STAFF

7) Medical Doctor: Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBBS,MD or equivalent) and Medical license or registration with the relevant professional body plus at least 2 – 5years post-qualification cognate experience in a Hospital and or clinical setting (varies depending on specialization) and Clinical expertise in specific areas of medicine (e.g., general practice, surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine etc.). The candidate must be mentally sound and ethically upright.

8) Pharmacist: Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or PharmD, from accredited University or similar Institution. Registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and in diaspora with an up-to-date practicing license. plus at least 2 – 5years post-qualification progressive experience in pharmacy, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting. Experience working with public health and health systems will be an added advantage. The candidate must be mentally sound and ethically upright.

9) Assistant Chief Laboratory Technologist: Candidate must possess a B.Sc. or Masters in Laboratory Technology plus at least 2 or 5 years post-qualification cognate experience respectively.

10) Laboratory Technologist II: Candidate must possess an HND in Laboratory Technology, an AlST, ANIST, FIELT or equivalent professional qualifications.

11) Higher Data Processing Officer: Candidate must possess a B.Sc. (Computer Science) or an equivalent professional qualification.

12) Staff Nurse: Candidate must possess a B.Sc. (Nursing) or NRN plus NRM or SRA plus at least 2 years post-registration cognate experience.

13) Technical Officer/Maintenance Officer: Candidate must possess B.Sc or HND in the relevant field (Plumbing or Electrical), plus at least 2 years post-qualification cognate experience.
