The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement (GHSM) has officially announced the inauguration of its Ogun State Chapter, with Hon. Gbenga Idowu appointed as the State Coordinator.
The movement, which rallies around Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, aims to strengthen political participation, promote good governance, and mobilize grassroots support for democratic ideals in Nigeria.
Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a respected political leader and successful entrepreneur, served as the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) between 1999 and 2003. In 2003, he was appointed as a member of the Political Advisory Committee to the President under the administration of former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (GCFR).
Beyond politics, Dr. Olawepo-Hashim has distinguished himself in business with a remarkable 35-year track record of success. He is the Chairman of Oilworld Ltd., operators of OPL 241 in Nigeria’s continental shelf, and also Chairman of Transnational Energy Limited, Farmee of Hely Creek and Abigborodo fields on OML 49.
He is also the Chairman of Bresson A.S. Limited, owners of the 90MW Magboro Independent Power Producing (IPP) Project, among several other thriving business ventures both locally and internationally.
Widely acknowledged as a man of principle, courage, and vision, Dr. Olawepo-Hashim continues to inspire many Nigerians with his leadership philosophy and commitment to national development.
Speaking on behalf of the movement, Hon. Gbenga Idowu, Ogun State Coordinator, reaffirmed the group’s dedication to building a strong political base across all local government areas of the state.
“The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement is a platform for positive change, unity, and service to humanity. We are committed to strengthening the ideals of democracy and empowering our people,” he said.
The official inauguration of the Ogun State Chapter will be held in Ota, Ogun State, where party leaders, stakeholders, and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are expected to grace the occasion.
The movement describes Dr. Olawepo-Hashim as “a man of timber and caliber,” whose contributions to Nigeria’s political and economic development continue to make a lasting impact.
