Lagos Continental Hotel has taken a people-first approach to hospitality with the launch of its Training Academy and Staff Dormitory, underscoring its commitment to developing talent and improving staff wellbeing.
General Manager Christoph Schleissing said the twin projects are rooted in the belief that sustainable growth happens when people are equipped, inspired, and empowered.

The Training Academy combines training, coaching, leadership development, and innovation to prepare staff for the demands of a fast-evolving hospitality industry. Its leadership team — Williams Umeh, Emmanuel King, and Williams Shaibu — bring expertise and credibility as associates of the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development.
Schleissing explained that the Academy is more than a facility. “It is a learning experience curated to transform individuals and strengthen teams from the inside out.”
Complementing this is the Staff Dormitory, designed to give employees a secure and comfortable environment outside working hours.
Cluster Director, Human Resources, Niyi Agoro said the dormitory reflects the hotel’s strategic focus on workforce sustainability.
“The creation of these special facilities reinforces our strategic objective of nurturing a highly skilled, motivated, and future-ready workforce capable of delivering exceptional hospitality standards,” Agoro said.
